Qualifications

The person selected for this position must have one year of experience as a teacher in a daycare classroom. Personal qualifications for this position include the ability to interact effectively with both children and parents, the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members, and the ability to be flexible while maintaining the safety of all children and staff.

Responsibilities

The teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting a program for a group of children and all activities related to that program. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Keeping children in your care safe at all times.
• Planning and conducting daily experiences for the children.
• Preparing all materials required to implement the program.
• Planning for the needs of individual children in regard to their interests, special needs, pace, and style of learning.
• Including materials and experiences in the classroom that foster children’s self-esteem and cultural and ethnic identity.
• Attending and participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and planning activities.
• Assisting in public relations events sponsored by the daycare.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly classroom, restrooms, and kitchen.
• Clean and disinfect all toys, bed linen, and daycare blankets/mats.
• I am a team player willing to assist wherever needed.
